Vendicari and Marzamemi Excursion
The perfect excursion for the sea lovers, the one to Marzamemi and the Vendicari nature reserve.
A few dozen kilometers from the city of Syracuse, we will visit the Riserva di Vendicari,
a natural site of extreme importance for the birdlife. It is advisable to bring your binoculars so that you can observe up close birds of incredible beauty such as flamingos, herons, egrets, foxes … We will make a leap in time of over 50 years with the discovery of the salt pans and tuna fishing discovering their benefits, the way of working and the stories of these ancient trades that for decades have been protagonists of these lands. We will have the opportunity to stop at the beach where, weather permitting, we may also have the opportunity to take a bath.
The excursion begins with the meeting at 9:00 a.m., at the meeting point agreed at the time of booking. After the customary presentations will be made a briefing on the route, an overview of the main points of interest, a check on clothing and equipment and registration with the association that allows insurance coverage.
